In response to media reports that China might create its own TLDs to create its own intranet, a spokesperson from CNNIC clarifies that China will not create its own root servers.とは言え、グローバルなネットワークを米国主導型のまま、レールの上を走ってゆくのは党側にとっても望むトコロではないだろうし、いつまでも外部にオンブにダッコの情報規制では、その風当たりもだんだん強くなるだろうし。いわば、状況を見極めつつ、徐々につま先をドアの隙間にねじ込んで行くための布石なのかもしれない。
The representative says the misunderstanding was caused by the ambiguous English in local English media which seems to tell readers that China will use the .CN domain extension to replace .COM and .NET.

The new domain names system consists of a total of 4 Country Code Top Level Domains (ccTLD) including the English language domain .CN and 3 Chinese-character top-level domains "中国" (.China), "公司" (.com)- in China .com is used to refer to companies, as previously only companies could register .cn domains –the .co.cn sub domain system is not in use in China, and "网络"(.net).コトの真意は判らないケド、とりあえず党側が今の状態に満足していないと言うことは、コチラの意見とアチラの意見との間でコンセンサスが取れているアタリが、なんとも奇妙と言おうか、不思議と言おうか。やっぱり、これもひとつのチャイニーズ・マジックなのか…。
